A simpler way is to use Bluetooth. Here's how:

1. Pair the phone with your computer.
2. Configuring Bluetooth OBEX Object Push.
3. Double-click the Bluetooth icon in the taskbar.
4. Devices in range.
5. Select your mobile phone.
6. Double-click the phone icon.
7. Drag and drop the JAR file for OBEX Object Push.
8. Your phone will ask: "Did you connect with your PC?".
9. OK and the transfer is started. Once completed, it will ask you to install.

If you still want to install the cable, try this. An excellent write. I've tried and it works.
